RUBIKA Video Game was created in 1988, then when the 3 schools merged in 2015, the video game department changed its name to RUBIKA Video Game. RUBIKA Video Game is a reference in the landscape of trainings in video game professions. This position is justified in more than one way: pedagogy provided by active professionals, prestigious partners and student productions recognized worldwide.

DIVE INTO THE HEART OF THE GAMING EXPERIENCE!
The RUBIKA Video Game program includes five years of learning and is aimed at students wishing to integrate the video game industry.
By joining RUBIKA, you will take advantage of a coherent, structured and professionalizing program. Throughout the training, students learn how to create immersive and interactive experiences in team. Being multi-skilled, the students comprehend all the jobs in the production line, from game design to programming, including art direction, script and animation. A large part of the training is also devoted to management and soft skills, with practical application in numerous group projects.
RUBIKA’s trainings are validated by a title of « Video Game Director », certified by the State at Level I of the RNCP (equivalent to BAC+5_master degree level diploma).

Game Art
The Game Artist is in charge of the elements constituting the graphic universe of a video game. Some are specialized in character design, others in environments, and some in 3D object textures. This specialization is aimed at creative people who are passionate about digital creation and who are able of creating different kinds of graphic universes.

Game Design
The Game Designer is in charge of the game design. His/her objective is the player’s immersion and the pleasure. The means to achieve this are narration, game mechanics and all the interaction possibilities offered to the player. This specialization is aimed at video game enthusiasts with a great imagination, a good analytical mind and an excellent level of general culture.

Game Programming
The Game Programmer is in charge of the video game technical realization and proper functioning. His/her objective is to implement elements that will give life to the videogame product: game mechanics, functionalities, artificial intelligence…This specialization is aimed at developers who are passionate about video games and who want to challenge themselves on videogame projects.

Tech-Art
The Tech Artist ensures the video game’s graphic quality and performance while respecting the artistic intentions and technical limits of the tools.

YEAR 1 TO 3
Bachelor Cycle
The Bachelor Cycle aims at learning the cultural and artistic grounding, developing creative techniques and handling the tools to create video game projects. A large part of the training is devoted to project management and learning studio working methods. To reach the Master Cycle, students are faced to a heavy workload and a requirement of rigor.
At the end of this cycle, students obtain aEuropean Bachelor of Arts degree. Equivalent to 180 ECTS credits, this title allows students to continue their studies in the Master Cycle.
YEAR 4 TO 5
Master Cycle
TheMaster Cycle reinforces the students’ expertise and prepares them for professional integration in high-level studios. The course is organised around the creation of prototypes enabling students to put into practice the skills acquired during their training. All aspects of video game production are covered: game design, game art, programming, marketing, law, etc. The course includes 5 to 9 months of compulsory internship, spread over two years.
At the end of the course, students obtain the diploma ofVideo Game Director (BAC+5_master degree level), a title certified by the State at the highest level of the RNCP (Répertoire National des Certifications Professionnelles).
