PEDAGOGICAL STAY

Initiation Stays

These stays are intended for high school students who are passionate about Animation, Video Games or Industrial Design. Unlike Discovery Stays, the Initiation stays allow you to deepen your knowledge in a sole track and thus validate your orientation choice.

DETAILED PROGRAM

Animation Stay

DAY 1 :

  • Reception of the participants
  • Presentation of the position of artistic director and his role in a production, exercises to standardize graphic style.
  • Presentation of the character designer position. Presentation of character creation techniques.
  • Creation of an animable character design based on the graphic codes of a professional set already created on Animate CC.
  • Integration of the character in the decor.

DAY 2 :

  • Presentation of the 2D animator position.
  • Presentation of the Animate CC interface and an animation technique on this application.
  • Presentation of traditional animation techniques.
  • Start of character animation work

DAY 3:

  • Continuation of character animation work.
  • Finishing of the small character animation integrated into the set and export of the video in MP4 format so that the participants can leave with it on a USB stick.

Design Stay

DAY 1 :

  • Reception of the participants
  • Presentation of the stay and objectives
  • Description of the design professions
  • Methodological approach
  • Volumetric approach in the workshop

DAY 2:

  • Academic drawing produced
  • Introduction to perspective
  • Introduction to illustration
  • Project development

DAY 3:

  • Physical Prototyping
  • 2D Illustration
  • Presentation of the project

Game Art Stay

DAY 1 :

  • Reception of the participants
  • Presentation of the stay and objectives
  • Game Artist Job Description
  • Elaboration after the reading of a tale of one or two key characters of the story that will have to be integrated into a video-game universe
  • Definition of the character(s) through the work of the silhouettes

DAY 2:

  • Selection of a silhouette then work on the « line » of the silhouette, work on the details of the character (morphological and clothing).

DAY 3:

  • Colouring the first character study
  • Work of affordance to illustrate, through key poses, the abilities that can take the character, such as he can has been defined, as part of its evolution in a game
  • Place the character in a posing with the suggestion of a scenery

(Depending on the progress of the participant’s work)

Game Design Stay

DAY 1 :

  • Reception of the participants
  • Presentation of the stay and objectives
  • Game Designer Job Description – History
  • Role of the Game Designer in the creation of video games
  • The rules of Game Design
  • Presentation of the project to be carried out
  • Presentation and discovery of Unity

DAY 2:

  • Setting up a level – notion of Level Design
  • Importing assets
  • Creation of simple Game Objects
  • Definition, role and creation of Prefab
  • Discovery of the physics engine – collision management
  • Discovery of Visual Scripting
  • First scripts

DAY 3:

  • Personal additions and customization
  • Creation of a final build to start with its realization
  • Finalization of the prototype

➔ from 15 to 17 April 2020 (welcome from 14 April from 4.30 p.m.; participants will be released on 17 April at 5 p.m.)

If the stay is complete, please send an email to Annick BURGOS in order to be placed on the waiting list, indicating the desired course of study and your school level in 2019-2020.

FEES

➔ Formula at 500€: stay + 6 meals including 1 bowling evening + 3 nights in hotel in double room with breakfasts.

➔ Formula at 575€ : stay + 6 meals including 1 bowling evening + 3 nights in hotel in single room with breakfasts.
