Registration for the Product Design Master’s entrance exam is open to students holding a Bachelor’s degree in the field of design.
The exam consists of a creativity tests and a motivational interview during which the candidate presents his/her portfolio. The deadline for registration is midnight on 15 April 2023. An invitation is sent by e-mail a few days before the date of the exam. The results are sent by e-mail a fortnight after the exam.
If your application is accepted, you will have to fill in your application form within the deadline announced in the email (about two weeks), otherwise your place will be offered to a candidate placed on the waiting list.

A Bachelor’s degree is required:
➔ a Bachelor in design
➔ another diploma in line with the targeted course
CONTENT OF THE ENTRANCE EXAM
⌛ 2 HOURS | COEFFICIENT 60%
The test aims to assess your ability to analyse a problem and propose solutions. You will present your strategy for identifying user needs. Finally, you will propose several solutions accompanied by usage scenarios and sketches highlighting the concept.
MOTIVATIONAL INTERVIEW + PORTFOLIO
⌛ 20 MINUTES | COEFFICIENT 40%
The motivation interview aims to assess your suitability for the course and your interest in interaction design. This privileged moment is based on the presentation of a portfolio. It is also an opportunity to show your personality, your desires, your level of commitment to the practice of design. Your interests can help you stand out from the other candidates, especially if they are reflected in your portfolio. The test is eliminatory if the candidate obtains a mark below the average.
HOW TO REGISTER FOR THE ENTRANCE EXAM?

CREATE YOUR FILE
To register, you will need to upload an ID photo of passport format. You will also need to write about your motivation and your interests. So be sure to prepare them beforehand.

CREATE YOUR ACCOUNT
Go to the registration form and follow the instructions. Your registration will only be effective after validation and payment of the exam fee. An official invitation will be sent to you at least 8 days before the exam.

TAKE THE EXAM
On the day of the exam, you will need your identity card. At the interview, present your portfolio and your last three report cards. For the tests, make sure you have a computer, a camera and a good internet connection.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
DO I HAVE TO BE ABLE TO DRAW TO TAKE THE EXAM?
Candidates are not expected to have a high level of drawing skills, but rather to be able to express an idea/solutions in a visual way.
CAN I TAKE SEVERAL DESIGN EXAMS?
It is possible to take several design exams provided that the specialisations are different: products, transport, UX or digital.
CAN I TAKE THE SAME EXAM MORE THAN ONCE?
A candidate who has failed the exam may retake it the following year, subject to the age limit for registration (27 years).
WHAT ARE THE CONDITIONS FOR REIMBURSEMENT?

DO I HAVE TO BRING MY OWN EQUIPMENT?
Candidates for the competition must bring their own drawing materials. The paper is provided by the school for the various tests (if the competition is held in person).
ARE THE EXAM ASSIGNMENTS FROM PREVIOUS YEARS AVAILABLE?

WHAT ARE THE EXPECTATIONS FOR THE PORTFOLIO?
There is no particular formalism expected for the portfolio but a great expectation on the variety of work presented: observation drawings, perspectives, models, sketchbooks, digital realizations, scenarios of use… The idea is to show your creativity and your ability to express an idea.
In the case of very rich content, it is advisable to make a pre-selection in order to be sure to show the work most representative of the level already acquired. The remaining work will be made available to the examiner for consultation during the exchange.
HOW CAN I BEST PREPARE FOR THE ENTRANCE EXAM?
➔ Draw every day: you can easily produce one drawing a day… Creative or observational, it doesn’t matter but draw!
➔ Cultivate yourself: a good designer is a curious designer! This will feed your imagination and creativity!
