PRODUCT DESIGN COURSE
The Product Design course at the RUBIKA School of Design trains project managers in charge of the design process at both the operational and strategic levels.
Under the pedagogical guidance of working professionals, the course prepares students for the operational mastery of industrial design. Students learn to conduct user-centred design projects: analysis of the project and the end consumer, drafting of specifications, creativity phase, selection of the preliminary development project, communication, etc. By the end of the course, students have completed 4 collective projects with companies, including 2 as managers.
The goals of the course are :
- To develop a designer culture and expertise
- To analyse (and write) a creative brief
- To acquire a project design methodology
- To master the tools of representation and 3D animation
- To propose innovative solutions with high added value
- To prototype solutions and test them to validate their viability
The curriculum includes 3 periods of internship and concludes with a semester of pre-employment. The majority of internships take place abroad, in a multitude of industrial or craft sectors: household appliances, electronic products, robotics, watchmaking, jewellery, sports equipment, tools, tableware, furniture, and many others…
