PROCEDURES FOR THE POST-SECONDARY DIGITAL DESIGN ENTRANCE EXAM

The Digital Design exam consists of:

An official invitation will be sent to you at least eight days before the examination. The results of the examination are sent by e-mail a fortnight after the examination.

CONTENT OF THE ENTRANCE EXAM

CREATIVITY TEST 1: TECHNICAL DRAWING

⌛ 1 HOUR 15 MINUTES | COEFFICIENT 60%

The goal of the test is to analyse your graphic and representational skills by depicting an object that we will present to you in the form of a sketch. You will be asked to work on a proportioned plan, i.e., a front view, a side view, and a top view. Please bring pencils and/or markers. Paper and a ruler will be provided.

To pass this test, we advise you to work on your sense of observation by representing objects in volume and from several different angles.

CREATIVITY TEST 2: INTERPRETATIVE DRAWING

1 HOUR 30 MINUTES | COEFFICIENT 30%

This Digital Design test is designed to assess your ability to interpret intentions and propose stylistic solutions. You will be shown a product from a certain angle. You will be asked to interpret the hidden side of the product through drawing. To do this, you will need to understand the product as a whole and respect its stylistic codes. Please bring pencils. Paper will be provided.

To pass this test, we advise you to work on your sense of observation by representing objects in volume and from several different angles.

MOTIVATION INTERVIEW + PORTFOLIO

20 MINUTES | COEFFICIENT 50%

The purpose of the interview is to assess your creative potential and gauge your interest in the design sector. This unique opportunity revolves around the presentation of a portfolio. It’s also a chance to show the members of the panel your personality, your desires, your level of commitment to what you’re passionate about, and the « why » behind your application. Your interests can help you stand out from the other applicants, particularly if they are reflected in your portfolio. Finally, we take the opportunity to assess your oral English.

The test is eliminatory if the candidate obtains a mark below the average.
