2D ANIMATION COURSE

RUBIKA Animation‘s 2D Animation course trains high-level creative and technical people prepared to enter the 2D animation film market.

The goal of the course is for each student to be able to join a studio after having seen and practised the various phases necessary for the production of a 2D animated film: script, storyboard, art direction, animation, editing, sound design, etc. A large part of the course is devoted to drawing practice (morphology, characters, posing, animation, etc.) and to working with the digital tools used in the different companies of the sector (ToonBoom, TV Paint, AnimateCC, etc.). The annual projects allow the students to put into practice the skills learned in class and to work on project and team management. The final 2D animation project at the end of the course will be presented in front of a jury of professionals.

The goals of the course are :

  • To learn to observe and reproduce reality
  • To master the tools for creating static and animated images
  • To develop an animation culture and a critical mind
  • To understand the production chain of an animated film
  • To create short animated films as a team
  • To acquire the working methods of a professional studio

The curriculum includes several periods of internship.

The ideal baccalaureate to integrate a course in 2D Animation is the STD2A (Sciences and Technologies of Design and Applied Arts) baccalaureate. However, our programs are open to all baccalaureate holders, regardless of their speciality. In some cases, a year of preparatory classes may be useful to ensure the fundamentals.
