Master's degree courses

Since 2015, the RUBIKA school has been located at the Serre Numérique, a centre of excellence dedicated to image and digital creation. Each year, the school welcomes more than 900 students in its video game, animation, and design courses.

The campus brings together work spaces, companies, research laboratories, and technological equipment: a 4K 3D auditorium, a film studio, a virtual reality space, a photo studio, a render farm, a powerwall, a fablab, design workshops, etc.

Each year, RUBIKA invests 1 million euros in the purchase of computer equipment (computers, consoles, etc.), the renewal of software licenses, or the acquisition of new equipment. RUBIKA students have a dedicated personal computer on site and are not obliged to invest in their own computer.

There are many events that punctuate campus life: conferences, afterworks, and special events organised by the Student Office.

With more than 17,000 m² of infrastructure, RUBIKA guarantees its students an optimal working environment, in keeping with the professionalism expected.

RUBIKA makes the well-being of its students a priority. Our commitment is reflected in various services and awareness-raising activities, including health seminars, presentations by experts, and the implementation of an « Equity and Respect Ethics Charter. » In addition to the facilities and activities offered free of charge on campus (yoga, krav-maga, basketball field, ping-pong tables), the Sports Office offers its members sports activities around the campus (running, cycling) or in partnership with various host structures (bowling, skating, lasergame).

Weekly meetings are organised with class representatives to discuss problems encountered by students.

Decompression workshops are also offered to relieve the stress inherent in certain periods: drawing, sculpture, yoga, karate, etc.

Finally, RUBIKA has set up a free and anonymous helpline for students who wish to receive psychological support.

A cafeteria managed by the CROUS is open from Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.It offers fast food (dishes to be heated, salads, pasta, sandwiches, and bagels) at reduced prices. Food trucks complete this offer of catering with a daily rotation system.

Students can also find food shops (Lidl, Carrefour City, Sandwicheries, Friterie) within a radius of 500 metres.

The Student Office (BDE) plays an essential role in organising the school’s highlights: integration weekends, themed evenings, game jams, and the end-of-year gala. It also coordinates the various extracurricular associations: Cinéclub, Bureau des Sports, etc.

Located 45 kilometres south-east of Lille, Valenciennes is situated in the Hauts-de-France region. It benefits from a strategic location in the heart of Europe. Lille is 52 km away (40 minutes by car), Brussels is 106 km away, and Paris is 200 km away. The Valenciennes train station connects you to the capital in 1h40.

Valenciennes is a young and attractive city. There are 43,000 inhabitants, including more than 10,000 students. In addition to RUBIKA, the city has the Polytechnic University of Hauts-de-France, seven establishments offering preparatory classes for the grandes écoles, whether scientific, economic, literary, or technical, an IUT, an engineering school, and various other schools. Student life is therefore particularly well developed. The good news is that public transportation is entirely free for students.

Valenciennes is a land rich in history. Formerly industrial and mining, the city has been able to adapt and invest in three fields of excellence: land transport (automobile and rail), digital technology, and sustainable logistics. The city was also awarded the « French Tech » label in 2014.

Valenciennes also stands out for its cultural and artistic offerings. From Gallo-Roman archaeology to 20th-century Flemish paintings, the Museum of Fine Arts allows visitors to appreciate prestigious collections of works. The city takes particular care to preserve the statues that adorn its streets. Indeed, there are almost 85 statues scattered throughout the city! Moreover, the town offers a tour so that you can discover these famous works.

The Valenciennes region also has beautiful natural landscapes, starting with a visit to the Nord Pas de Calais mining basin, which has been recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2012.
